Deslodge, Missouri Man Dies In Double Car Crash

In St. Francois County a Deslodge man died in a two vehicle accident on Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday on Missouri Route 8 the double vehicle crash occurred just west  of Park Hills. David Swanguarim, 33, of Desloge, Missouri, was heading westbound in his 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier. He was attempting to pass another vehicle, a 1993 Ford Econoline 350, when he lost control. After losing control of his Chevrolet Cavalier, Swanguarim veered sideways, and struck the front of the Econoline 350. After striking the other vehicle, Swanguarim swerved off the the left side of the road, going off the side of a high embankment.

Swanguarim was rushed to Mineral Area Hospital where he was treated but was pronounced dead at 10:43 p.m. He did have a passenger in his vehicle, Bobby Smith, 34, of Park Hills, Missouri, who was also rushed to the hospital. He was reported to be in serious condition.

Neither of these two men was wearing a seat belt.
